Support Worker Vacancies

Job description

Hikma House is looking for experienced female support workers to assist with respite care in a short-term accommodation (STA) home around Melbourne (majority in north and south-east suburbs).

We are looking for staff able to commit to ongoing support of our clients, who are loyal, reliable and treat our clients like they would their own family.

We have a variety of shifts available which include Morning, Afternoon and Midnight shifts. Support includes weekends shifts.

Tasks include:

  • Able to use hoist safely
  • Personal care assistance
  • Assistance with Medication
  • Meal planning and preparation
  • Cleaning, laundering, ironing and light household duties
  • Organizing outings, activities and games.
  • Companionship and conversation
  • Other tasks as per requirement

You will need these essential requirements:

  • Certificate III in Individual Support, Disability or Community Support or working to the equivalent
  • NDIS Screening Check
  • Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
  • Manual Handling Certificate
  • Food Safety Training Certificate
  • Administer of Medication Certificate
  • NDIS Training Modules
  • Current National Police Certificate
  • Current First Aid Certificate, and CPR
  • Current Australian drivers license
  • Car Insurance Policy
  • Minimum of 12 months work related experience in similar role (Desirable)
  • Availability and work any day of the week, including weekends.

Causal hours: 20-40 per week
